It is amazing what bored, rich men collect. I do have to say it is nice that they donate their interesting collections to the public when they get tired of them. A man by the name of Tracy liked to collect birds. And when his mother made him clean out his junk drawer, like my mom always did, he donated his birds to the public. How nice!
So Saturday we went and saw this impressive collection of birds. It was a little chilly which was nice because we ended up being the only people there. We had the whole place to ourselves.
Here we are standing in front of the pelicans.

It was interesting the bald eagle and the hawks in the next pic were only caged in by a 3 foot tall fence. The collects consists of birds that have been injured and can't be returned to the wild. This bald eagle had half of one of its wings missing. Poor guy! I'm not sure what happened to the two hawks but they were huge and impressive. Sadly none of them could fly.

Brinn as always was having fun. She especially loved it when a free roaming peacock came right up to her. The peacock was greeted with a shreek of terror.

Jaden's favorite bird was the guy pushing the stroller. He had more fun playing with Dad than seeing any of the interesting birds. I think this trip was mostly for Jason and me but we decided we better drag the kids along instead of leaving them in the car. Happy Saturday!
