Brinn's Birthday

On Saturday we celebrated Brinn's 1st birthday! I can't believe we have had her for a year. She has been such a joy. We started her birthday by taking her and Jaden to go trick-or-treating at the zoo with their cousins.

Here is the start of our day as we were getting ready to head to the zoo. Brinn was a Lobster and Jaden was a candy corn. I didn't have much creativity this year to do a family theme. So we will have to be happy with a candy corn-eating lobster or a lobster-eating candy corn. Sadly I think the theme is the latter scenario.

Here is our cute little lobster at the zoo. I could just eat her! Yummm......, lobster.
Here is our candy corn. He insisted candy corns don't have legs so he had to be carried everywhere. I think next year he'll be a centipede. No excuses for not walking.
Also, we decided or Jaden decided to take his lion to the zoo. Sometimes I think I should have named Jaden Calvin and then we could have called his lion Hobbs. That thing goes everywhere with him and carries all diseases known to man. That thing needs to be burned.

Jason and Brinn. What a happy picture.
These are all the cousins that went trick-or-treating with us. We were the coolest bunch. No one would mess with us, and the kid challenging our troop in this pic soon backed off as he realized he had to deal with a taller Darth Vader, young Anakin Skywalker, Superman, an intimidating Batman, a cute butterfly, and an adorable ladybug. Poor kid.
I do have to mention our Darth Vader (Gavin) won a long and challenging lightsaber battle with an older and (not so) mature Darth Vader. We were so PROUD (pleased)to be with Gavin. He is seriously our hero.

It was kind of intimidating to see the tiger. He was very active and pacing as he was looking at the crowd. I could just hear him thinking. "What do I want for breakfast? That teddy bear looks good. Humm, or maybe that Yoda. I hear superheros taste good. Nope, I think I want that plump candy corn."
This was one of my favorite exhibit. The sea life habitat.

After the zoo we went back home and had pizza and Brinn opened her presents.

Here is Brinn in her cute hat she got and surrounded by her new dolls and toys. What a spoiled little girl.Brinn was so surprised by the flame on the cupcake. When she realized there was a fire on her cake her eyes got huge. She was more frightened than amused. You can tell by her face she thought this whole birthday ritual was a little weird. She judged us all.

Here are the witch, Magnolia cupcakes I made for the party. I have to say they were very yummy.

Here is Brinn eating her cupcake. She of course made a mess but she took her time and was a little cautious of the neon-green face she was eating. Yummm...

Happy 1st Birthday Brinn!!!

I love Brinn's face and suspicion of the flame--maybe she'll blow out all the matches that Jaden lights...
