So Jason and I were looking for something to do this weekend and we came across news of a balloon festival on Antelope Island. Even though I grew up here in Utah I never visited Antelope Island. Just like Jason growing up in Arizona and never seeing the Grand Canyon! So of course we had to go. So we packed up the kiddies nice and early, and picked up the parents. We had so much fun and I never knew Antelope Island was so beautiful.
The balloon festival was just that... A balloon festival. Saddly, it was too windy for the balloons to take off, but they did let one balloon take off for a short flight. I mean short. But it was very windy.
So we took the opportunity to explore the island and we were surprised to see the treasures the island offered. The soft sandy beaches with CLEAR water! And if you wanted, you could go swimming. It was, I have to say, tempting.
We also saw buffalo and antelope (hence the name). It was like a mini Yellowstone.
